About

Practical UX community gathers periodically to discuss common UX topics and to run design exercises and design workshops.

Expect advice from UX professionals on best practices in UX, conducting user research, dealing with poor business requirements, and collaboration between designers and developers — as well as the occasional rant about bad product UX. We also suggest high-quality essays, books and podcasts on UX topics.

Our mentors have versatile UX backgrounds, bring best practices, and share experience from their daily work.

What happens at a meetup

Meetups have taken several forms over the years:

• Talks — a speaker presents a topic in depth, followed by questions. Past subjects include UX research, personas, design ethics, web performance and designer–developer communication.
• Design critique sessions — experienced designers publicly review and question digital products submitted by the community, giving advice grounded in the product's business requirements.
• Portfolio and project feedback — attendees show their own work and get feedback from design colleagues.

There is no formal schedule or strict agenda. Sessions are moderated by Milovan Jovičić. Talks are held in Serbian and English.

Taking part

Upcoming events are announced on our Meetup group, where RSVP is required because seating is limited. The community has grown to 2000+ members.

Practical UX was founded in Belgrade in 2017 and is organised and facilitated by Milovan Jovičić, a UX consultant.
